The Bureau of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning the public about the health risks associated buying medicines from small, neighborhood convenience stores as well as unlicensed drugstores.
FDA acting Director Kenneth Hartigan-Go said their agency has no way of checking if these stores are selling medicine that have passed quality standards.
According to Tempo, contaminated or adulterated medicines could result to adverse drug reactions or side effects; some of which could be life threatening.
