Endangered crocodile transferred to DENR for checkup

A 4-meter long saltwater crocodile is now at the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Quezon City for a routine medical checkup before possibly being released back to its natural habitat.

ABS CBN News reported that the male crocodile was accidentally caught by fisherman in Indanan, Jolo, Sulu last November 16, 2012. the saltwater crocodile (crocodylus porosus) is on the “highly endangered” list.
