Election-related deaths begin

A fish monger and campaign leader of Imus City Rep. Ireneo “Ayong” Maliksi heads what will hopefully be a very short list of election-related deaths for the May 2013 elections.

Hilario Picache, alias Boyle, 72, former barangay chairman and president of the Association of Barangay Chairmen in Cavite City, was shot dead at a public market in Barangay San Roque around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to the Journal, Picache’s death will be fueling the already heated political rivalry between the Maliksi and Remulla families.

Maliksi, for his part, instructed the police to resolve the murder speedily.
