National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Leonardo A. Espina on Monday recognized the efforts of eight valiant policemen from Marikina City who risked their lives to apprehend a pair of armed criminals.
The NCRPO chief pinned the PNP Medal of Merit to Chief Insp. Eduardo J. Gillera, Senior Police Officer 1 Marvin Cruz, SPO1 Dominador Pimentel Jr., PO2 Joselito Genobili, PO1 Jason Villanueva, PO1 Marvin De Guzman, PO1 Al-Nizaar Sappayani and PO1 Alain Ambona.
The policemen’s efforts led to the arrest of Nassib Dimaagal and Adrian de la Cruz, who were the suspects in the killing of one Arnel Borre. The suspects initially resisted arrest and engaged the policemen in a shoot out. PO1 Villanueva was injured by one of the suspects.
The Marikina policemen received their medals at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City, the Journal reported.
