Following the death of one worker, the Department of Labor and Employment ordered a work stoppage at a Valenzuala City tire plant.
Bongbong Danding, a mechanic, was killed at the Pilipinas KAI Rubber Corp. when an autoclave door burst while he was near.
Two other workers were injured during the incident. DOLE Metro Manila director Alan Macaraya said investigations showed that Pilipinas KAI Rubber Corp. did not follow occupational safety standards, GMA News reported.
