Developer insists “Solar City” won’t block Manila Bay sunset

The famous Manila Bay sunset, which has been immortalized in thousands of photographs, will not be obstructed by the proposed reclamation project.

This was the assurance given by project proponent Manila Goldcoast Development Corp. (MGDC), who plans to reclaim and develop 148 hectares of the bay.

MGDC vice chair Edmundo Lim said the project would even “enhance a four-kilometer sunset-viewing area.” He also stressed that there are no plans to include a casino in the project.

Inquirer News reported that MGDC would get just 82 hectares and the rest will be set aside for the Manila City government and other eco tourism plans.
