Mark Anthony Soriano, a 20-year old man, was arrested in Manila. Why? He allegedly detained his girlfriend, Raquel Valladolid, for three weeks and forced her to take drugs and have sex with him.
Last Sunday, Raquel, a 22-year old freelance model, was rescued from Mark’s home in Sampaloc, Manila. According to an officer, Raquel flinched when her bruises were checked and “was suspicious of the people around her.” She was “still stoned” and couldn’t “talk sensibly.”
On the other hand, Mark denied the charges, according to Inquirer, and claimed that they have actually been living together. He added that she started behaving abnormally after coming home from a Malate bar last Saturday, and that she once tried cutting herself using a knife.
Raquel’s mother reported that her daughter had been missing for three days after leaving their house for work last Dec. 27. She was accompanied by mark, according to Mrs. Valladolid.
She was also able to talk with her daughter through her cellphone last Friday. Raquel was asking for help because someone was threatening to kill her.
Raquel was able to call a cousin and give her location, leading to her rescue last Sunday.
