Davao businessman arrested for smuggling shabu at NAIA

A 38-year-old businessman from Monkayo, Davao City, has been arrested for trying to smuggle in seven kilos of shabu at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)Terminal 2.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. announced the arrest of Roendo Ariata, 38, of Monkayo, Davao City last Jan. 8.

The operatives recovered some P38.5 million worth of shabu stashed in boxes of powdered milk.

Ariata arrived in Manila on board Philippine Airlines Flight PR307 from Hong Kong, the Philippine Star reported.
