An anti-kidnapping cop was arrested near the intersection of Kamuning and Kamias in Quezon City on Wednesday for threatening a biker with his firearm, which is a direct violation of the election gun ban.
Police Officer 2 Joven Janairo Jr., of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group, however, denied that he pulled a gun against the driver and instead accused him of beating him up.
Quezon City police said Janairo was on his way to Camp Crame aboard his motorcycle when he almost hit the other motorcycle rider at the intersection. Inquirer News reported that the two had an argument and that at one point, Janairo drew his firearm.
Reports said other motorists saw the entire incident. Janairo was arrested and will still be charged with violting the gun ban. The other motorcycle rider, however, left the scene and did not press charges against the cop.
