After working as a company driver for a pharmaceutical and medical supplies firm for 8 years, a 26-year-old man was arrested for carting off with over PHP1 million worth of blood pressure control meds.
Police identified the suspect as Bonnie Maniego. He was arrested at his apartment in Project 4, Quezon City. Police also recovered 5,030 pieces of the hypertension medicine, hydralazine hydrochloride, worth P729,350.
The vehicle used to steal the medicine from his employer was also found there.
A total of 7,200 pieces of hydralazine hydrochloride went missing on Saturday. According to the Philippine Star, Maniego worked with an accomplice, who is still at large.
