The campaign period is just around the corner, and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is encouraging everyone to use social media to report election violations.
Wow, that’s really a.) tech-savvy, and b.) lazy.
But anyway…
Oversized posters? Materials illegally posted somewhere? Tweet them: @comelec.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez even said that the tweeter could file the case against the candidate or the Comelec could at least initiate the case.
According to Inquirer, Jimenez also said that the social media reporting system that they are preparing “is just one response” to how the idea of a campaign is now more complicated, and that there has to be others.
We definitely agree with that last part there.
