Citizens irked over traffic jams caused by political rallies

If there’s anything worse than long and dragging campaign speeches, it’s traffic jams caused by motorcades and other political gimmicks.

Since the official campaign period began on Sunday, motorists and commuters have been bearing the brunt of politicians trying to win over votes. Hellish traffic, closed roads, traffic rerouting and blaring campaign jingles are just a few of the inconveniences we are being made to put up with.

According to the Inquirer, netizens have turned to social media to vent their ire and frustration.  People have also been clamoring for action from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Commission on Elections.

The two have bodies yielded to public pressure and met on Wednesday to discuss the matter.
