A jilted Chinese national almost succeeded in jumping off a building in Malate, Manila.
50 year old Je Wai Xi, also known as Juan Sy got to the 8th floor of a building which is still under construction and threatened to jump to his death.
According to Barangay Chairman Romulo Boquina, Sy’s girlfriend broke off with him and this led him to the suicide attempt.
The Journal reported that his ex- girlfriend later arrived along with Bureau of Fire Protection personnel, and they were able to talk him down.
