Filipinos falling victim to illegal recruiters is a sad but recurring story. The Caloocan City government has taken the initiative to educate its citizens against illegal recruitment through Pre-Employment Orientation Seminars (PEOS).
According to the Journal, those who want to work abroad are requested to attend the lecture where they are taught how to spot and defend themselves against deception, exploitation and abuses from recruiters.
We hope other cities would follow suit.
