C2, the country’s leading ready-to-drink tea brand, concluded its “C2 Sarap ng Bukas Music Video-Making Contest” by awarding the winners at Crowne Plaza’s Xin Tian Di in Ortigas yesterday, March 13.
The challenge: make a video for the C2 theme song “Sarap ng Bukas.”
Personal challenge: endure listening to the theme song 10 times. Luckily for all of us there, the new C2 theme song is pretty nice and catchy – plus the video entries were really entertaining.

“Tikman ang Bukas” by Annabele Jane G. Masculino (10th place) shows us that we can do whatever we want to do as long as we take the first step: dream.

“Teddy” by Romulo Jose A. Domagas (9th place) is a cute story about childhood sweethearts.

“C2mation” by Jose Ma. Antonio A. Gonzales (8th place) is a Batibot-y video that makes use of drawings, cut-outs and C2 bottles.

“Volunteer” by Geriza C. Dela Cruz (7th place) is about techy teens helping out young ones by volunteering.

“Tropa” by Lorenz Roi G. Morales (6th place) shows scenes from a teenager’s life: hanging out, playing sports, road trips, and graduation.

“Dreams Do Come True with C2” by Paul Julius L. Sy (5th place) is a funny video that involves animation and one guy playing all the roles in it.

“To C2 is to Believe” by Patrick Jason Espiritu Bayani (4th place) is a stop-animation video with beautiful cinematography, featuring different teens and their different dreams.

“C2 to the Fifth Power!” by Chloe Anne A. Veloso (3rd place) is a hilarious video where a supergroup tries to save the world from a big bad girl.

“Geek’s Mind” by Gharawi delos Santos Usman (2nd place) is a video games-inspired entry that has flawless editing and a lot of “guest appearances” by icons like Pac-Man, Angry Birds and Harry Potter.

“Look Forward to Tomorrow” by Krizelle Ching (1st place) is a very touching and inspiring video about a cancer patient who tries to live her live to the fullest by sharing what she has with others. Got all of us there teary-eyed, really.
Krizelle took home P150,000 for besting all the entries (around a hundred). “My friends and I are truly thrilled, and honored to be this year’s grand prize winner. I hope that our video inspires everyone to believe C2’s message that there is always hope for a brighter and better tomorrow,” she said.
First runner-up Gharawi won P100,000 and second runner-up Chloe brought home P50,000. All the other finalists got P10,000 each.

A special award was given to Jeanmehwah Dagum of Caloocan City for winning the Fan’s Choice Award, after getting the most number of votes online. She took home P20,000.
“Promoting a cool and clean lifestyle among the youth has always been our goal,” said Vice-President and General Manager for URC Beverage Division, Edwin Totanes. “Through the Sarap ng Bukas music video competition, we wish to encourage our young talents to always take care of their body, mind, and spirit today, so they can have the refreshing drive to go after what they want in life,” he added.
Can’t wait to see the video entries next year.
