The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has ordered 10 buses owned by Everlasting Transport Co. suspended after one of its buses hit a post on the flyover on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City on Monday.
The buses have been put on preventive suspension for up to 30 days while the accident is under investigation. Everlasting Transport Co. will have to surrender the license plates of its buses while the LTFRB checks them for roadworthiness.
The drivers and bus conductors will also have to take drug tests, a DZMM report said. The first hearing of the investigation has been set for April 30.
According to reports, the bus was speeding and overloaded when the accident, which left 49 passengers injured, happened. Another accident, reportedly also involving a speeding bus, happened in Navotas early Tuesday morning. Thirty passengers were hurt after the bus hit a truck transporting rice.
