A member of the Bolt Cutter Gang died in a shootout with Pasig City police this week.
The Philippine Star reports Rodel dela Torre and two companions shot it out with police after they were seen trying to break into an Internet cafe on Pasig Boulevard Extension. Dela Torre was dead by the time he was brought to Pasig City General Hospital.
His two companions, Silvio Ligas and Rodelio Santiago Lopez, surrendered to police.
Senior Superintendent Mario Razira, Pasig City police chief, said police recovered “two caliber .38 revolvers and two caliber .22 pistols.”
The Bolt Cutter Gang is called such because they use bolt cutters to break into places they plan to rob.
