Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo asked politicians to funnel a portion of their campaign funds to help produce and distribute Bibles to the public.
The bishop issued the appeal during the “Bible Run” at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Saturday. He noted too that politicians may help them in distributing the Holy Bibles but appealed that the bibles not be used during political campaigns.
The “Bible Run” activities was organized by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines and the Philippine Bible Society (PBS). The project aimed to generate funds for the printing of Bibles for underprivileged Filipinos.
The group targeted to produce and distribute Bibles at a subsidized price of P50.
According to PBS the regular price of one is about PHP 150, Inquirer News reported.
