Chinese New Year celebrations are in full swing, and thousands of people are expected to participate in the revelry this weekend.
Manila Police is reminding everyone to be extra vigilant and careful because criminals are also out to take advantage of these parties. The public is advised to be on the lookout against criminals who may operate in crowds to snatch money, jewelry, mobile phones and other valuables.
Inquirer News reported that a grand parade is scheduled on Sunday afternoon. It will start at Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz and will pass Condesa, Ongpin, Sta. Cruz, and Dasmariñas Streets.
Manila Police Chief Inspector Erwin Margarejo said least 500 Manila police personnel will be on duty in Chinatown this weekend in line with the celebration of Chinese New Year.
