Banned toxic products still being sold

Beware of several imported whitening and anti-aging products in Chinese drugstores in Binondo and Divisoria. They contain mercury above the allowable limit of one part per million (ppm) and had been banned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but are still being sold. The Ecowaste Coalition discovered that there are 12 drugstores selling 15 brands of these products, with prices ranging from P50 to P300.

These products are dangerous because they can cause skin rashes , skin discoloration and scarring, according to Inquirer.
