The National Printing Office in Quezon City has finished printing 52 million ballots that will be used in the May 13 elections, close to two weeks earlier than expected.
A Sun Star Online report quotes NPO director Emmanuel Andaya as saying finishing printing that quickly is “a record-breaking accomplishment.”
Commission on Elections chairman Sixto Brillantes, in the same report, said “I think this should set the manner of printing by NPO for all subsequent printing of all elections in the future.”
The ballots will be brought to a Comelec warehouse in Marikina City before being sent out to regional hubs and finally released to voting precincts on election day. “These are already good for delivery along with other items and election paraphernalia,” the Comelec chairman said.
