A graduate of Ateneo Law School topped the 2012 Bar exams with a score of 85.64 percent, the top score among 949 who passed the exams.
ABS-CBN News reports Ignatius Michael D. Ingles from Ateneo Law School is joined by five other Ateneans on the list of Top 10 bar exam passers.
Also in the Top 10 were:
Catherine Beatrice King Kay (Ateneo) — 84.72 percent
April Carmela Lacson (UP) — 84.48 percent
Xavier Jesus Romualdo (Ateneo) — 84.1 percent
Maria Angel Machuca (Ateneo) and Maria Graciela Base (UP) — 83.99 percent
Patrick Henry Salazar (UP) — 83.71 percent
Ralph Carlo Barcelona (Aquinas) — 83.43 percent
Marvyn Llamas (Ateneo) — 83.29 percent
Carlo Martin Li (Ateneo) — 83.27 percent
Francis Paulo Tiopianco (UP) — 83.25 percent
The 949 examinees who passed represent 17 percent of 5,686 who took the bar exams last year. This, after the Supreme Court agreed to lower the passing grade on the bar exams to 70 percent so more examinees would pass. Otherwise, the report said, only 300 would have passed the Bar exams.
