800 kilos of ‘botcha’ seized at Divisoria

The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) confiscated 800 kilos worth of tainted pork meat and expired imported meat early Sunday near the intersection of Juan Luna St. and C.M. Recto Avenue in Divisoria, after having received a tip.

GMA News reported that the meat, which were in sacks, basins and bayongs were unattended, and so no arrest had been made.

The NMIS continues to remind consumers to be cautious about buying tainted meat, emphasizing that these are usually sold more cheaply compared to fresh meat.
