398 gun ban violators in Metro Manila

Local police have made a total of 398 arrests for gun ban violations since its implantation on Jan. 13, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Sunday.

NCRPO chief Director Leonardo Espina said they have also confiscated a total of 222 firearms, 12 hand grenades and 181 deadly weapons.

Espina said the violators have all been charged before various courts in Metro Manila. The NCRPO Chief attributed their success to the 4,408 checkpoints set up in selected parts of the metropolis, the Philippine Star reported.
