Some 3 million maid, nannies, cooks and drivers stand to benefit from the passing of the Kasambahay law which standardizes salaries and sets benefits for different kinds of house helpers all over the country.
Some of the salient points of the law include setting a P2,500 monthly wage at the National Capital Region; P2,000 a month in chartered cities and first class municipalities; and P1,500 a month for those employed in other municipalities.
The law also provides for 13th month pay for domestic workers as well as other benefits, ABS CBN News reported.
