Operatives of the Manila Police District have arrested two Pakistanis and an Indian national for presenting fake names and documents for their cellphone applications at Smart Communications branches in Binondo and Sta. Cruz in Manila.
Police identified the suspects as Deepak Mehta alias “Ajay Kapoor”, 37; and Pakistan nationals Shahid Malik alias ‘Faizal Ali Khan’, 46, and Naeem Ilyaas alias ‘Zubair Kumar’, 34.
The suspects were arrested at the Smart Communications Branch in SM San Lazaro on March 27.
According to reports, the suspects apply for postpaid plans so they could avail of expensive cellphone models. They would then stop paying their cellphone bills.
