It was supposed to be a formal event, but The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) 2012 awarding ceremony held at the Rizal Hall of the Malacanang Palace last Wednesday turned out to be some sort of party, thanks to awardee apl.de.ap. The Black Eyed Peas rapper performed “We Can Be Anything,” “Bebot” and “Where is the Love” together with other awardees – in front of the president!
According to Inquirer, here are the other awardees that made it to the prestigious list.
Azkals vice-captain Emelio “Chieffy” Caligdong
GMA-7 reporter Jiggy Manicad Jr.
Diwa party-list Rep. Emmeline Aglipay
Veterinary doctor Warren Baticados
Occupational therapist Abelardo Apollo David
Heritage conservationist Ivan Anthony Henares
PNoy reminded the awardees, “I am here today not merely to award you, but to personally challenge you to do more. What I have learned as president is that no single person, no single entity, or corporation, or government can manage the full-scale turnaround of this country solely on their own. We need each Filipino to do their part.”
