Two passenger buses collided along the southbound lane of EDSA near Buendia, Makati City on Wednesday, injuring at least 12 passengers.
MMDA Metrobase official Vincent Lizada said one bus hit the rear end of the other bus, causing it to lose its breaks.
Rescue personnel from the MMDA administered first aid to the injured and brought others to the hospital.
The accident resulted to heavy traffic from the Buendia area up to the Timo bus, which lost its brakes.
The smash up caused heavy traffic jam from Buendia to Timog flyover in Quezon City, The Journal reported.
