With a fancy-sounding name like that, this creek in Paco, Manila, deserves to be cleaned up. (Well, even if it didn’t have such an insulares-sounding name, it needs to be pollution-free.)
“On Thursday, Nov 21, the newly rehabilitated Estero de Santibañez was inaugurated yesterday by the ABS-CBN Foundation’s Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP),” reports The Philippine Star.
The KBPIP worked on the project in partnership with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), and the City of Manila. In fact, the DPWH donated PHP13.69 million for the development of infrastructure along the 430-meter creek that used to be filled with garbage.
In July this year, the KBPIP has also completed the rehabilitation of the Estero de Aviles in July this year. It worked on the Estero de Paco in 2012.
