The explanation given by LRT Administration spokesman Hernando Cabrera was that “the new ticketing system, the automated fare collection system (AFCI) or popularly known as ‘tap-and-go,’ is still being tested.”

Apparently, AF Payment Inc. (AFPI), deferred the early rollout of the system, which was supposed to be finished this month.

Now, Cabrera said ASPI “plans to finish the installation for Line 2 on June 14 and Line 1 ‘by the end of June.'”
