What if the Pope was one of us?
Tales of Pope Francis’ clandestine trips out of the Vatican continued come out, with new information establishing truth to what was once dubbed as rumors.
“A knowledgeable source in Rome that ‘Swiss guards confirmed that the pope has ventured out at night, dressed as a regular priest, to meet with homeless men and women,’” reports The Huffington Post.
The rumors stemmed from an interview given by the Papal Almoner, Archbishop Konrad Krajewski, who said he always worried that Pope Francis would tag along when he tells his boss he would go to the city to tend the homeless.
The papal almoner’s job, as Krajewski explained to the Associated Press, is to give small, meaningful assistance to people in need, not necessarily ones that require a lot of finances.
So if you happen to be in Rome and see a priest breaking bread with a homeless guy, you might want to give him a closer look.
