“The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that a new tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this week,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
PAGASA forecaster Gener Quitlong explained that as of 2am on Monday, Sep 29, the cyclone (already categorized as a ‘tropical depression’) was spotted east of Mindanao but was still outside the PAR.
Quitlong added that “the tropical depression will enter the PAR before the weekend.”
The report noted: “In its 24-hour weather forecast for Monday, PAGASA said the Philippines will have a generally fair weather. It said the regions of Davao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.”
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
