Boarding a train during Manila’s rush hour is no joke but a woman’s recent mishap has her and netizens laughing.

Facebook user Bryza Concepcion shared a now-viral photo showing how she lost a shoe while trying to board an LRT-1 train in Monumento, Caloocan.

Concepcion writes in her post in Filipino: “When you were just about to go to school and you lost a shoe because of [people] pushing at the LRT. Where will I buy [shoes] now?”

Concepcion told Coconuts Manila through a Facebook message that the incident happened on Monday at the LRT-1 Monumento station at 8:20am while she was on her way to school at the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) in Manila.

“A train arrived without any passengers in it and I was in front of the line. The doors had not even opened yet but already other passengers were pushing me [to get in],” she said in Filipino.

Concepcion recalled that when she was about to walk in, people got more extreme with the pushing. She was then surprised when her right shoe got off.

“I was supposed to get it but sad to say, because all the [passengers] were excited to get in, I wasn’t able to retrieve it and it fell on the railways.”

She told Coconuts that a friend who was also going to pass by the same route came through for her and helped her get the shoe back with the help of LRT-1 personnel.

#FriendshipGoals.

“I waited for her even if I’ll be late for school because I didn’t have extra money that time to buy shoes,” she shared.

The photo had over 8,200 likes and 4,700 shares as of this article’s posting.

Netizens couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, some also shared similar experiences.

Facebook Gian Kyla Malayba tagged a friend and wrote in Filipino not to ride the train during rush hour.

Jessalyn Ü Dimarucot said: “HOW’D THIS HAPPEN HAHAHAHAHAHAHA WTF MADE MY DAY.”

“[This is] my biggest fear,” wrote Kenneth Carranza.

Same, Kenneth. This and clowns.

Alysson Kyle Obregon wrote: “At least she still had socks, I had to go barefoot.”

Danica Mapa shared a photo she took when the same thing happened to her.

The best comment goes to Kelly Aujero who said: “Just take off your other shoe.”

Bravo. Problem solved.
