A public school teacher was robbed by an unidentified man while she was with her students in Bio-os Elementary School in Amlan, Negros Oriental on Thursday morning.

Angelique Calingacion was in the middle of her English class when she was approached by an unidentified man wearing a black baseball cap.

Thinking the man was a student’s parent who wanted to talk to her, Calingacion entertained the stranger. The man then whispered to Calingacion, asking her for her earrings, ring, and her bag.

The man also pointed a gun near the victim’s stomach.

Out of fear, Calingacion gave the man her belongings, as her 32 Grade 3 students looked on in shock.

The man then walked out of the classroom and quietly left the school premises.

According to some students, the man who came out of Calingacion’s classroom waved at someone outside the school before riding a motorcycle.

Authorities believe the robber could be from the area because he seemed to know the place well.

Classes in Bio-os Elementary School have been suspended due to the incident. Students who saw the incident were left speechless and traumatized.

Parents, on the other hand, fear for their children’s safety.

The school had no security guard or barangay police in charge of security within its premises.
