These numbers aren’t good.
As of 7am on April 21, under its Alerto Semana Santa 2014 operations, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) monitored a total of 50 incidents in Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, VIII, X, XI, the National Capital region (NCR), and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Of the 50 monitored incidents, there were 19 vehicular accidents, 2 vehicle fires, 2 hazardous materials incidents, 16 near-drowning incidents, 7 fires, 1 maritime incident (Odiongan, Romblon), 2 flooding incidents (Tagum, Davao del Norte), 1 shooting incident (Natigpunan, Quirino Province), and 1 carbon monoxide poisioning case (Catbalogan, Samar).
All these incidents collectively resulted in 31 deaths, with 123 people were injured.
