Reports say he’s doing it for health reasons.
“National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Eduardo Del Rosario resigned from his post on Tuesday afternoon, April 29,” reports ANC.
The report noted: “Ironically enough, Del Rosario brought up the subject of his resignation—albeit under different circumstances—in December 2013.”
Back then, Del Rosario had gotten miffed by “allegations that the NDRRMC had been “editing” the death toll from Typhoon Yolanda in order to avoid the ire of Malacañang.”
Del Rosario was quoted as saying, “Kung mayroon magpapatunay na ang national leadership at kami po dito sa operations center ay hindi nagpapalabas ng totoong bilang, any day po (If there’s anyone who can prove that the national leadership and we at the operations center are not reporting the correct numbers, then any day), I am willing to resign as the executive director of the council and the administrator of the Office of National Defense.”
