This is good to know.
“National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Carmelo E. Valmoria announced that 20 members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) recently became the latest addition to the growing number of K-9 handlers needed in responding to bomb situations in Metro Manila,” report Alfred Dalizon and Jeffrey Tiangco on Journal Online.
The report noted: “Policemen from the NCRPO, the PNP Aviation Security Group and the PNP Special Action Force completed the US-sponsored Explosive Detection Canine Sustainment Course to enhance their bomb-detection capabilities.”
The policemen, as the report indicated, “completed the course with working dogs at the NCRPO Technical Support Platoon Compound in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.” The course was taught by US Department of State Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program (ATAP) headed by Thomas McDonough.
