NBI recovers deleted digital files of Benhur Luy

This will make a lot of people suspicious.

“Ronald Aguto, chief of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cybercrime Division, revealed that some digital files of whistleblower Benhur Luy were allegedly ‘deleted’ but were ‘retrieved’ by forensic experts of the agency,” reports Maila Ager on Inquirer.net.

According to the report, “Aguto made the disclosure when the NBI, led by its head, Virgilio Mendez, submitted the digital recordings contained in a compact disc (CD) to Senator Teofisto Guingona III, chairman of the Senate blue ribbon committee.”

The NBI could not explain who deleted the digital files.

Then again, the CD reportedly “contained 31, 700 pages that if printed, Guingona said, could ‘fill a whole room.'”
