NBI raids family-run cyberporn den in Taguig City

This is simply unthinkable. To protect the victims’ privacy, the does not mention the suspects’ names. That’s because the suspects are related to the defenseless kids who got victmized.

On Sat, Oct 15, three children were rescued from a cyberporn den run by their 74-year-old great-grandmother and her four granddaughters in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

Two of the kids were confirmed as the children of one of the granddaughters: a five-year-old boy and his two-year-old sister. The third kid is an 11-year-old boy.

“The cyberporn den, which had allegedly been operating since 2011, was shut down by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTRAD) in cooperation with the Inter-Agency Council Against Human Trafficking, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the non-government group International Justice Mission,” reports Ghio Ong in The Philippine Star.

The NBI revealed that “the children were sold to foreigners for sex and made to do live sex shows with the granddaughters on webcam for the benefit of foreign clients.”

Apparently, the alleged head of the operation was the kids’ great-grandmother, reportedly collected around PHP6,000 (around US$124) per transaction through money transfer.

The four granddaughters allegedly took charge of pimping the kids online. They used the handle “pretty.mirth.” In fact, the NBI
found logbooks of their transactions along with pornographic materials, shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

The women are now facing charges for human trafficking, child abuse, photo and video voyeurism, and drug use.

The report noted: “The FBI coordinated with the NBI after finding out that a producer of child pornography, “pretty.mirth,” was based in the Philippines.”
