Don’t worry, he survived this.
“National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Teodoro Guevara, 54, was wounded after he tried to fight off three robbers in Quezon City on Wednesday night, June 25,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.
The report revealed that “Guevara was stabbed in the forearm and chest while bystander Anthony Pangyarihan was hit in the chest by a stray bullet when one of the robbers fired Guevara’s gun.”
According to Quezon City Police District Station 3 commander Superintendent Ariel Capocao, Guevara was going into a bus near a gasoline station along EDSA in Balintawak at past 6pm when a man suddenly grabbed the gold necklace that he was wearing.
Guevara got off the bus to get back his jewelry. However, two men lunged at him. That was when he got stabbed.
Despite getting stabbed, Guevara managed to pull out his Smith and Wesson Magnum .357 revolver. Unfortunately, one of the robbers grabbed it. The three robbers then crossed to the other side of EDSA.
The wounded Guevara chased the robbers, but the one carrying his gun shot at him. The robber missed and hit Pangyarihan instead.
We admire Guevara’s tenacity, but the fact remains that the bad guys managed to escape. (Get well soon, Sir.)
