NBI agent killed during raid in Caloocan

It turned out to be a bloody Friday for the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

“An NBI agent was killed in an encounter with criminal elements in Caloocan City early Friday, Dec 6, in Caloocan,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report revealed that about 40 agents were conducting a search operation in one of the houses along King Arthur Street in Barangay 188, Tala at around 530 am when the shooting occurred. They were supposed to serve the search warrant to a certain Aslani Romuroz (alias “Niknik”), who’s an alleged drug dealer in the area.

According to NBI team leader Roland Fernandez, said shots were fired at them coming from different and unidentified locations. One NBI agent was fatally hit. There were several others who were injured. The name of the agent was not released.

The NBI arrested 20 men allegedly who were suspected of being involved in the shooting. They also found at least three rifles, two shotguns, two Ingram pistols, and some ammunition in their possession. However, investigators are still trying to determine where Romoruz’s whereabouts.
