Nationwide CPR training project set to be launched in Boracay

Resort island Boracay was chosen as the pilot site for the nationwide project promoting the readiness of tourism frontliners in performing cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

“CPR on Wings and Wheels” is a joint project of the Philippine Heart Association, the Department of Tourism, the local government of Malay in Aklan, and the Boracay Foundation Incorporated.

The project will be launched on Sat, October 22, at the La Carmela Resort in Station 3.

Expected to be at the launch are more than 500 participants comprised of tourism frontliners such as hotel, restaurant, and travel agency staff as well as local tour guides, lifeguards, boatmen, and tourist vehicle drivers.

Barangay and municipal health workers will also be in attendance.

Members of the PHA-Aklan chapter will lead the CPR training. Cardiologist, nurses, and volunteers from the Philippine Red Cross Kalibo and Malay chapter will help in the training. Philippine News Agency (PNA)
