This National Teachers’ Month stamp will remind you of elementary school

There are many ways to show appreciation for your teacher — backstabbing her to death not included — and one of them is putting her profession on a postal stamp for posterity.

Released in time for National Teachers’ Month with only 101,000 copies available, this 3x4cm stamp is called “Guro: Pangalawang Magulang”, referring to the adage that the school is everyone’s second home and, thus, our teachers are our second parents.

The stamp, designed by PHLPost in-house artist Rodine Teodoro, who also made the Pacquiao stamps released last year, looks like a page straight out of an elementary school textbook and shows a teacher guiding a young student.

The stamps are available at PHP12 each at the Manila Central Post Office, or call +63 2 5270108, +63 2 527-0132.
