Napoles transfer to Camp Bagong Diwa postponed

Somebody got too excited that they forgot some technicalities.

“On Friday afternoon, July 25, the Sandiganbayan 3rd Division announced that it was ordering the immediate transfer of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles from the detention facility in Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City,” reports ANC.

But it looks like the anti-graft court won’t get instant gratification.

The report revealed that “Napoles will be staying at Fort Sto. Domingo—at least until the Sandiganbayan order regarding her transfer to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan is clarified.”

According to Napoles’ lawyer, Atty. Bruce Rivera, they are “confused about which to follow—the Sandiganbayan 3rd Division or the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150, which has prior jurisdiction over the businesswoman.”

After Napoles surrendered to President Noynoy Aquino in 2013, the Makati court had decreed back that she be detained at Fort Sto. Domingo. Napoles has been staying there since September 1, 2013.

Rivera said the Sandiganbayan and the Makati RTC must first resolve the issue before Napoles is transferred.
