Atty. Stephen David, the lawyer of alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Lim Napoles, reportedly had this to say about the investigation conducted by the Office of the Ombudsman on the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada: “They are very selective in their investigation.”
“David made the statement at the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division during Estrada’s bail petition hearing on Tuesday, August 12,” reports Jeffrey Damicog in Manila Bulletin.
In particular, David asked prosecution witness, Ombudsman investigation team member Atty. Vic Escalante, why no mayors and auditors were charged before the Sandiganbayan.
David explained that “there were mayors who signed documents like acknowledgement receipts and acceptance certificates in the projects covered by Estrada’s PDAF that are now subject of the indictment against him.”
