[UPDATED]
Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind in the P10 billion pork barrel scam, refused to enter a plea for her kidnapping case, according to her lawyer Lorna Kapunan. As such, the Makati City Regional Trial Court, which is trying her case, automatically entered a not guilty plea on her behalf. Napoles arrived at the Makati City Hall past 1pm aboard a tightly secured convoy that ferried her from her detention cell at Fort Santo Domingo in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. Earlier in the day, Napoles’ lawyers filed an urgent motion to conduct the arraignment at Fort Sto. Domingo, citing security concerns. Judge Elmo Alameda of Branch 150 denied the request. Napoles was whisked back to her detention cell as soon as the arraignment was done past 2pm. MM
