Napoles claims ‘certain people’ want her to ‘sanitize’ pork scam story

Before anything else, we have to say, “Wow, she gets a personal visit from church leaders!”

On Monday morning, July 14, Batangas Archbishop Ramon Arguelles who, along with several other bishops and church leaders, visited Janet Lim Napoles at her detention cell in Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The other bishops were Zamboanga Archbishop Romulo dela Cruz, Batanes Archbishop Camilo Gregorio, Bishop Efraim Tendero of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, and Pastor Arthur Corpuz of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines.

“After the visit, Arguelles revealed that Napoles wants to tell everything she knows about the alleged PHP10-billion pork barrel scam, but is fearful that her revelations will come at the expense of her life,” reports Xianne Arcangel on GMA News Online.

Arguelles was quoted as saying, “She wants to tell the truth but she’s afraid for her life.”

However, Arguelles said that Napoles told him that “certain people” have been telling her to “sanitize” her account of the pork barrel scam.

The report also noted: “In a letter sent to Dela Cruz on June 17, Napoles expressed frustration at the ‘bitter consequences’ she suffered after she decided to reveal her knowledge about the pork barrel scam through affidavits submitted to the Department of Justice.”
