“A 30-year-old man, who happens to be the namesake of actor Bernardo Bernardo, was arrested after he allegedly sold shabu to a poseur buyer during a buy-bust operation Wednesday night, April 22, in Navotas City,” reports Edd Reyes on Journal Online.
The suspect was seized with at least five sachets of drugs, one of which he sold to a police officer who pretended to be a buyer.
According to Navotas deputy police chief for administration Supt. Arturo Paras said elements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (SAID-SOTG) proceeded to the house of the suspect along A. Santiago Street in Barangay Sipac Almazen at 10:45pm.
The report noted: “A buy-bust operation was carried out and Bernardo was arrested as soon as he handed over a sachet of shabu in exchange for PHP300 in marked money.”
The suspect is facing charges for the violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
