Some people shouldn’t be allowed to drink liquor or drive. Ever.
“Christian Canlapan, 22, was flagged down by policemen in Quezon City on Thursday, April 10, for a simple traffic violation and ended up behind bars even though he tried to bluff his way out of the mess by claiming to be the nephew of a police official,” reports Jeannette I. Andrade in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Police Officers 1 Rochar Roldan and Edison Guillermo were on patrol around 12:30am on Ilocos Norte Street in Bago Bantay, Quezon City when they spotted Canlapan. They noted that he seemd to be having trouble driving his motorcycle. He also wasn’t wearing a helmet.
When Roldan and Guillermo stopped Canlapan and asked him to present his driver’s license and registration papers, the latter became hostile. He allegedly said, “Why are you bothering me? What is my violation? Don’t you know I’m General Laciste’s nephew?”
The report noted that Canlapan “was apparently referring to Chief Supt. Federico Laciste, the deputy chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Southern Luzon.”
Despite this, Roldan and Guillermo arrested Canlapan.
