Now, this is why our airport is called the world’s worst.

“On Thursday, Feb 13, departing passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 got the surprise of their lives when a portion of the terminal’s ceiling collapsed,” reports Raoul Esperas on ABS-CBNnews.com.
While most of those in the vicinity of the collapse were able to scamper away to safety, Lorna Delos Angeles, a 59-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW), was hit by falling debris. She was taken by medical personnel of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to the clinic. Fortunately, she was later able to board her U.S.-bound flight.
In a phone interview with ABS-CBNnews.com, NAIA Terminal 1 manager Dante Basanta said they will “call the attention of F.R. Sevilla Construction, the sub-contractor of DMCI, to ensure 100 percent safety in all areas of the airport that are undergoing rehabilitation.”
It’s embarrassing, we know, but at least NAIA has some very honest people working there. In two weeks, two baggage porters returned left-behind cash on two separate incidents.
